Regional Councils of Labour Market Partners
Each of Québec’s administrative regions has a regional council of labour market partners. The councils are preferential regional forums for the partners.
The councils examine labour market issues specific to their respective regions and recommend an action plan addressing local needs to the Commission des partenaires du marché du travail (CPMT). The councils are also responsible for adapting Emploi-Québec measures and services to regional needs.
Each regional council of labour market partners is composed of the following members:
- six members representing business and industry;
- six members representing labour;
- four members representing the education sector;
- two members representing community organizations;
- the regional director of Emploi-Québec;
- three non-voting members appointed from other government departments:
- Éducation, Loisir et Sport
- Développement économique Innovation et Exportation,
or
- Affaires municipales, Régions et Occupation du territoire, in the case of Laval, Laurentides, Lanaudière, Montréal and Montérégie.
