Emploi-Québec offers a range of services: some targeted to the general population, others to specific client groups.

Employment assistance: services and information for people looking for work, including programs for people who have particular difficulties entering the labour market.

Individual and family assistance: last-resort financial assistance and social support for people in a difficult socioeconomic situation.

Employment assistance services

If you are actively looking for work

• Post your candidacies online .
• Find out the trades and occupations most in demand in your region.
• Search for jobs online.
• Get tips on how to structure your job search.

If you are receiving Employment Insurance benefits (federal government) or last-resort financial assistance (Québec government)

• Find out what specialized services are available to help someone in your situation enter the labour market.
• Receive financial assistance.
• Become self-employed.
• If you may be facing long-term unemployment, you can receive an employment-assistance allowance and get a reimbursement of your training expenses.

If you already have a job

• Consult the Guide de la qualification professionnelle (French only) .
• Learn a trade under a journey person system (French only) .
• Make sure you have the necessary skills to practise a trade in the case of trades that may endanger the safety of other people (French only) .
• Work elsewhere in Canada with vocational qualifications obtained in Québec, or vice-versa (French only) .

Québec is responsible for active employment measures and certain National Employment Service functions funded by the Employment Insurance Account.
