Hats Off to You! contest

Hats Off to You!

The Hats Off to You! contest is organized in every region of Québec by the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport, in collaboration with many partners including Emploi-Québec. The contest promotes non-traditional secondary school and college training programs in which women are in a less than one-thirds minority. Currently, the proportion of women in vocational training is 11% and, in technical training, just under 20%

Prize

The “Integration into the Job Market” component of the contest, administered by Emploi-Québec, targets candidates who are returning to school in traditionally male-dominated trades which, for the most part, provide good prospects for employment. Emploi-Québec will be awarding two $2,000 prizes, one of which will go to the top candidate in vocational training and the other to the top candidate in technical training.

To be eligible for either of these prizes, the candidates must meet the eligibility requirements described in the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport’s informative brochure, which you can find on that Ministère’s website External site, opens in a new window..

The candidates must also draft a composition, of one page at the most, answering the following questions:

  • Once you receive your diploma, how will you go about finding employment?
  • What course of action will you undertake to stay in the job market?
