Assessment and Analyses

Assessment of the workforce by labour sector

Workforce and sectors of activity

Sectoral assessments increase understanding of the state of the workforce and employment in a given sector of activity and help identify potential courses of action.

Although the sectoral workforce committees are generally responsible for conducting sectoral assessments, the Direction générale adjointe de l'intervention sectorielle may decide to assess the workforce and employment status of sectors not covered by the committees.

Trade and occupational analysis

Trade and occupational analyses help to:

  • gain a better understanding of trades and occupations in the sector of activity or industry concerned;
  • highlight the characteristics of a trade or an occupation and the context in which it is performed;
  • create an inventory of the tasks performed and skills required in a given trade or occupation;
  • define tasks, functional requirements and skill profiles.

Trade and occupational analyses are conducted by the Direction générale adjointe de l'intervention sectorielle and the sectoral workforce committees.
